The construction industry showed significant growth

The volume of construction work in the republic in 2018 amounted to 47,260.7 billion soums. Comparing to last year growth rates reached 109.9 percent, - the State Statistics Committee reports.

Major construction contractors completed works for 15 802.4 billion soums, their sharing 33.4 percent in the total volume. At the same time, small enterprises and microfirms disbursed 18,536.1 billion soums (39.2 percent) in this industry. The share of the informal sector  reached 27.4 percent (12,922.2 billion soums). The main part of the construction was made up of project design works, residential buildings and non-residential premises (78.2 percent), civilian objects (11.1), another 10.7 percent - the share of specialized construction works.

The highest growth rates were recorded in the Navoi region - 128.5 percent - due to the construction of the mine for the extraction and processing of gold ores from the Auminzo-Amantoy ore field, the reconstruction of the third line of the Amudarya-Zarafshan pumping station and the improvement of the technology for extracting gold from refractory ores of the Kokpatas and Daugyztau deposits.

Tashkent and the neighboring area showed a high growth rate as well -110.6 and 110.1, respectively. In the Tashkent area the major construction works took place in military camp and HPS in Bostanlyk district, as well as through the construction and overhaul of roads, in the capital itself it grew due to the construction of Yunusabad and Sergeli subway lines, as well as the reconstruction of the National Park and installing barriers on the Angren-Pap railway line. The lowest rates were recorded in Kashkadarya (103.5 percent), Jizzakh (104.4 percent) and Namangan (104.5) regions.
