MFA asked to refrain from traveling to Kazakhstan

The reason is severe frosts in some areas of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan issued a Consular-Legal Department warning, in which they ask to take into account risks when entering the neighboring republic.

The ministry advises to take a responsible approach to the choice of transport if travel is not avoided. Especially for those traveling to the northern regions of Kazakhstan or traversing Kazakhstan to Russia by bus.

According to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, due to the extreme cold, the Astana-Petropavlovsk highway of republican significance is closed to motor vehicles, and the local population is advised not to travel.

Last week in Kazakhstan was extremely cold. In the northern parts the air temperature reached up to minus 45 Celsius, that felt minus 60 because of the  strong wind and humidity. This winter is reported to be the coldest in the last seven years, - today.kz informs referring to the  Kazhydromet.

Due to bad weather in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, on February 6, classes in schools were canceled. The Astana-Kyzylorda train was canceled.
