Uzbekistan delegation to attend Munich Security Conference 2019

On February 13-16, delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov will attend Munich Security Conference 2019 in Germany.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uzbekistan delegation also plans to hold a number of bilateral meetings in Munich.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is an annual conference on international security policy that has taken place in Munich, Bavaria since 1963.

Over the past four decades the MSC has become the most important independent forum for the exchange of views by international security policy decision-makers. Each year it brings together about 350 senior figures from more than 70 countries around the world to engage in an intensive debate on current and future security challenges.

The conference organizers occasionally publish the "Munich Security Report" (MSR) shortly before the launch of the MSC.  The Munich Security Report 2019 headlined “The Great Puzzle: Who Pick up the Pieces?”  provides an overview of major security policy challenges and features insightful data, analyses, maps and infographics.  It states,

“Looking at the current state of international affairs it is difficult to escape the feeling that the world is not just witnessing a series of smaller and bigger crises. […]Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the global security landscape has never been more dangerous. We are experiencing an epochal shift, as one era is coming to an end, and for now only rough outlines of a new geopolitical age are visible.”
