Professor at Columbia University Aziza Shonazarova awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy at the Institute of Oriental Studies.

Aziza Shonazarova grew up in Tashkent, graduated from Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. She has studied at well-known universities in Poland and the United States. At 32, she became a doctor of historical and religious sciences. The President of Uzbekistan has awarded her the Dustlik (Friendship) Order.

A meeting was held with the young scientist at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, on the initiative of the Ministry of Innovative Development, with the support of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Embassy in the country.

Aziza also teaches foreign students. Starting with teaching at Indiana University, she continued her work as a lecturer at Stanford University. She is considered a scientific researcher at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, where she also gives lectures. She collaborates with a number of leading universities and research centers in the United States, Europe and Asia.

At the meeting, Aziza Shonazarova was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy of historical sciences at the Institute of Oriental Studies. In Uzbekistan, a young scientist who has deeply mastered Russian, English, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, German, French and Polish, plans to meet with representatives of the public, scientists and young people. In order to increase the interest of young people in science, it is planned to conduct discussions with students of the specialized boarding school for biologists and chemists named after Abu Ali ibn Sina and the specialized state general education boarding school named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
