President: Conscientiousness of people should be our main tool

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chairs a videoconference. The Head of the state dwelled on the situation around the coronavirus.

It was noted that to date, the number of cases of COVID-19 infection in the country has exceeded 15 thousand. As a result of measures taken, more than 8 thousand people have recovered. Unfortunately, the virus has claimed the lives of nearly 80 citizens.

– The situation remains serious. Therefore, no regional leader has the right to indulge in calmness, thinking that he is in a good state of affairs. Disadvantages are everywhere. The most important task is their timely identification, objective assessment and immediate actions to eliminate them, – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. – We must not forget the proverb “You cannot hide an eel in a sack”, which characterizes the situation with the coronavirus. If we are indifferent to this misfortune, we will endanger the health and fate of thousands of people and the situation will become even worse. The worst thing is that the number of deaths will rise sharply.

The Head of the state in his previous speeches noted the need for radically changing the strategy and tactics of combating the pandemic. Touching upon this issue today, the President noted that the most powerful, most effective means should be used, corresponding to the current conditions of the pandemic.

– In this struggle, the state and private medical system, all institutions must be constantly mobilized and work effectively, the dedication of doctors, the consciousness of our people must be our main tool, – the President continued. – We can fight this evil only by acting promptly, in a state of constant mobilization, with iron discipline, medical culture and high consciousness.

It was emphasized that khokims and sector leaders have greatest responsibility in the fight against the pandemic. They must have complete and accurate information about the current situation in the territories entrusted to them, which must be updated every day, every hour.

– Khokims, sector leaders, all responsible persons and officials must work accurately and without mistakes, day and night, like a clockwork mechanism, – the Head of the state said. – Unfortunately, it is in this aspect that we often face problems. Due to the lack of accurate information and substantiated analytical materials, our decisions do not give the expected results. Tell me what kind of help you need in this matter and we will resolve all issues. Because we have one goal: we need to get rid of this infection as soon as possible and completely restore our economy and social life”.

At the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again addressed people and stated the following:

– Each of us should be deeply aware that, first of all, we ourselves are responsible both for our own health and for the health of our families and children. In this regard, I ask our deputies, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, respected journalists, activists of makhallas: during the pandemic, we must strengthen our work to promote the idea of personal responsibility of everyone.

When will we overcome the pandemic? When everyone conquers carelessness in himself, when everyone will take a more responsible attitude towards his life, the fate of his family and children, the life of our entire people.

Are we capable of this? Definitely yes. I am convinced that such feelings and views that the current situation demands us will come through the hearts and minds of our every compatriot. And we will definitely cope with this test with dignity, – said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As is known, on July 15, the state of work to combat the pandemic in the capital and Tashkent region was criticized, specific tasks were set. Today, the khokim of the city of Tashkent, the Prosecutor General and other responsible leaders reported on the work carried out in this direction.
