Matilda Dimovska appointed UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan

Yesterday she handed her credentilas to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov.

The Minister congratulated M. Dimovska on his appointment to the important post and wished her success. During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNDP.

It was noted that the provisions of the adopted Uzbekistan’s Development Strategy for 2017-2021 correspond with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which unite the main principle: “Human interests are above all”.

The Minister praised the efforts of the UN, including UNDP, to assist mitigating environmental problems. It was noted that the launch of the Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral Sea region under the UN was an important event in the field of solving the environmental problems of a huge region.
