Tashkent gets new transport and logistics center by the end of the year

The construction of a modern transport and logistics center through direct investments was discussed at a meeting in the Uzbekistan Railways with Vyacheslav Novikov, the head of the SV Gulbis SIA (Latvia).

The center will provide services for sorting railway cars, cargo loading and unloading, storage, registration, and marking. The center is scheduled to open by end of this year.

It will be built on​​ 16 hectares on the territory of the Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC. The container terminal will occupy 20 thousand square meters. Closed storage facilities - 25 thousand square meters, including 14 thousand square meters for certain types of products. An automated warehouse management system will be implemented in the complex. The facility will include service center, customs control and administration.

The new logistics center will  operate up to 3 million tons of cargo per year, and give 350 new jobs. It is planned to create conditions for trucks as well. Technological equipment for it will be imported from Sweden and Germany.
