Microsoft reported wiretapping users Cortana and Skype Translator

Microsoft has warned Cortana voice assistant and Skype Translator users that company employees and contractors can collect and study their voice data, Motherboard reports.

The company’s updated privacy policy says that users’s personal data is processed both automatically and attracting people.

The Skype Translator FAQ says that audio recordings of users are collected to improve the product, and suppliers must sign a non-disclosure agreement. A warning about data collection has also appeared on the Cortana page.

Motherboard notes that Microsoft has an online tool where users can delete audio recordings made using Cortana and Skype Translator.
On August 13, the Facebook social network announced that it had attracted third parties to decrypt the voice messages of Messenger users, but stopped this practice in early August.
