The number of enterprises in Uzbekistan increased by 16.1 percent in January

In January 2019, 13,234 thousand new enterprises were created in the country.

The total number of registered businesses according to the State Statistics Committee on February 1, 2019 amounted to 351.3 thousand, with 335.7 thousand running. Meanwhile, this number does not include dekhkan and farms.

The number of operating enterprises increased by 46.6 thousand compared with January 2018, and the growth dynamics was 16.1 percent.

The majority of enterprises 23% are engaged in trading, industry — 17.6, construction — 9, agriculture, forestry and fishery — 7.5, accommodation and food services — 6.1, transportation and storage - 4.1, information and communication - 2.1, health care and social services - 2 and other spheres of economic activity - 28.6 percent.

The largest number of enterprises is registered in Tashkent - 71,754, Tashkent region (32,074), Fergana (30,307), Andijan (28,172) and Samarkand (26,114) regions. The smallest in Syrdarya – 10,608.

The number of operating enterprises with foreign capital increased by 2202. Their total number was 7810. Among them, 4,116 are joint ones, 3,694 are foreign ones. The Russian Federation is the leader in the organization of such enterprises in 1,467, China takes the second line -1,149, while 915 created with capital from Turkey.
