Cargolux enters Navoi International Intermodal Logistics Center starting 2020

The question of connectivity between Uzbekistan and Luxembourg discussed at the Ministry of Transport. Talks were held within the framework of Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn visit to Uzbekistan.

So far, there has been no direct flight between Uzbekistan and Luxembourg. Within the framework of the International Conference on Central Asia in the system of international transport corridors held in September 2018 in Tashkent, representatives of the aviation administrations of the two countries discussed the possibility of implementing commercial flights through Navoi International Intermodal Logistics Center.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop cooperation projects in this area.

During Jean Asselborn visit a protocol was signed on air traffic between the aviation administrations of the two countries. The document will contribute to the legal streamlining of cargo, passenger and charter flights between the two countries, allow Luxembourg’s Cargolux to carry out transit cargo transportation to Asian countries through Navoi International Intermodal Logistics Center from 2020.

Cargolux is a Luxembourgish cargo airline with its headquarters and hub at Luxembourg Airport. With a global network, it is one of the largest scheduled all-cargo airlines in Europe.
