Turkish University of Health Sciences opens a branch and a clinic in Bukhara

The revenant agreement reached during Dr. Cevdet Erdöl, Rector of the University of Health Sciences visit to Tashkent and Bukhara.  

Members of the Turkish delegation met with the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov, discussing issues of expanding and developing cooperation in medical education, the possibility of holding joint scientific and educational events.

Turkish university has signed Memorandums of understanding with several medical higher education institutions of Uzbekistan. The parties agreed on the implementation of the academic exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, internships for faculty members and doctoral students, passing summer internships based at the affiliated hospitals of the Turkish University, and conducting joint research projects.

In addition, an agreement was reached on creating a branch of the Higher Medical School at the University of Health Sciences in 2019/2020 academic year at Bukhara State Medical Institute. A clinic of the Turkish University will be also allocated at the institute.

Cooperation between two medical universities continues started last year.  More than 40 students and faculty members from Bukhara University have been trained in Turkey since.

Founded in 1903, the University of Health Sciences is the only specialized medical university in Turkey and one of the leading educational institutions in Europe.
