In Kokand, the I International Festival of Applied Arts has begun

The participants of the festival walked a solemn passage from the square at the Khudoyar Khan Palace towards the center.

It was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and the governor of the Ferghana region Shukhrat Ganiev, the press service of the State Committee for Tourism Development said.

In the City of Craftsmen, located on the territory of the Khudoyar Khan's palace, a holiday was held with festivities and concert programs prepared by puppeteers, tightrope walkers, folklore groups of the regional department of culture. The participation of kyzykchi (wits) and heralds, actors in suits of court nobles gave the event a special atmosphere. There was also a presentation of the book by the President of the World Council of Artisans in the Asian and Pacific Region, Ms. Kadda Kadumi.

Guests of the holiday were welcomed by skilled craftsmen who prepared master classes and trainings for those who want to learn how to do something with their own hands. Master classes are held by representatives of Rishtan, Gijduvan, Urgut, Tashkent, Kattabog, Madir, Samarkand, Andijan, Gurumsaroy, Shakhrisabz ceramic schools.

Today, festival participants will be offered excursions to the ancient and modern sights of the Ferghana region: to the center of artisans in Margelan, a memorial complex in the madrasah of Ishan Said Ahmadhodzh, to the workshops of the minting and metal engraver Abdulhamid Madaliev, weavers Rasuljon Mirzakhmedov and Abdunabi Tashtemirov.
