Exhumation of Spanish dictator for 63 thousand euro

Exhumation of Francisco Franco was one of the first initiatives, dubbed by the socialist government almost immediately after coming to power in the summer of 2018.

Experts exhumed the remains of the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco (1892-1975), who were buried in the monumental complex "Valley of the Fallen" near Madrid. This was reported in the government.

To remove the coffin in which 44 years ago was buried dictator was raised granite slab weighing in at 1.5 tons, covering the grave, according to TASS.

Spanish authorities have banned the use of mobile phones during the procedure. Everyone had to pass through a metal detector. Media representatives were not allowed to exhume. It is expected that the transfer of the remains of the dictator will cost approximately € 63 thousand.

Soon they will be delivered by helicopter to the cemetery in El Pardo-Mingorrubio. There will reburial of caudillos, the service will be held before the burial. The ceremony allowed to attend 22 Franco relatives. The new place of burial of the dictator will be in the crypt, where his wife, Carmen Polo was buried in 1988.
